Happy Narnia Day!

Do you love Narnia? I am a Narnia Maniac. I am nearly obsessed with the books, and the movies are pretty awesome too! A real Narnia Maniac needs a way of staying connected with Narnia and other fans. I have found a great way of regularly keeping up with everything that's going on in the Narnia-Maniac world, and that's Narniaweb.com. Narniaweb is the world's number one source for Narnia movie news, and it has all kind of other news, as well! Not only do they have frequent movie updates, they also have a wonderful forum for discussing just about every aspect of Narnia you can imagine. If you love Narnia, you really should visit Narniaweb.com!
Speaking of the movies, if you haven't heard, the next Narnia film is already a work-in-progress. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is set to be released December 10, 2010. However, The Dawn Treader has already been through several rough spots. Disney and Walden Media had partnered to make The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian, but a few months ago, Disney unexpectedly dropped the franchise, leaving Walden Media to search for another partner to continue the series. This short delay was quickly overcome as 20th Century Fox is now Walden's new partner! During all of this, some Narnia Maniacs got together and created an online petition to show Walden Media, Fox, and the world, that there are still true Narnia fans that are not only supportive, but fanatical about The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and are greatly looking forward to its being made into a movie! You know how big I am on making your voice heard. Here is a way for us to tell the world that we love Narnia and are supportive of the new movie. You'll also get a really cool certificate! Click

Now, since there are so many people who love Narnia, shouldn't there be an official holiday? Now there is! Some other Maniacs on Narniaweb decided that there should be an official day to celebrate Narnia. March 21st was chosen as the date for this holiday because it is the first day of Spring. If you are familiar with The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, you know that Spring has special significance in Narnia. For one hundred years Narnia was held in an eternal Winter by the White Witch, until Aslan came and caused Spring to arrive. I think that this represents how Jesus can warm our hearts and replace the bitterness of Winter with the happiness of Spring, if we let Him.
To celebrate Narnia Day, you can do just about anything you like. Some suggested activities include 1), snuggle up with some popcorn and watch The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian, 2) Read your favorite passage out of any of the books, or if it's been a while since you've read them, start the series afresh! 3) Dress Narnian style, 4) Make your own decorations for the house or yard!
Be sure to let your friends know about Narnia Day!
